
Education and Libraries CSP provides student scholarships, teacher mini grants, recognizes the local Library services with appreciation events every year. They also support literacy programs for students and have a book exchange for members.

WAKE Up and Read! Fuquay-Varina Woman’s Club Members collected and donated over 3000 books for children aged infant through 5th grade in 2025 to donate to this coalition of agencies in Wake County that promotes childhood literacy for ALL children. Members also helped kids choose age-appropriate books at book fairs to take home and build their own home library to help them develop and love the joy of reading! We will be gathering books again in February of 2026.


The Health and Wellness CSP Members will be continuing BINGO and craft time at Pine Acres Community Center, Calyx, and Homes for the Elderly. They also partner with Angels Among the Elderly with holiday activities as needed throughout the year. Volunteers provide companionship, snacks, the fun of Bingo, and prizes that are also useful essential items such a paper and personal care products, disinfectant wipes, etc.
Contributions are made to KidSpace at the Hope Center in FV for kids in crisis and to the Hand of Hope Center for women with an unexpected pregnancy who may need medical services, resources, and baby supplies.
Civic Engagement and Outreach CSP placed over 600 wreaths on National Wreaths Across America Day in local cemeteries on December 13, 2025, to support the national mission: “Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom. “


FVWC Health and Wellness CSP will be collaborating with the American Legion and Walmart FV in collecting and distributing food items for the Backpack Buddies program throughout the traditional school year for four local elementary and charter schools. Purchases, collections and donations began in October and continue until April.
Art Show: The Arts and Culture CSP organizes The Fuquay-Varina Woman’s Club annual Art Show to be held on January 17 -18 , 1-4 p.m. each day at the Windsor Point auditorium in Fuquay-Varina. Our Club showcases art (visual, crafts, literature, photography) from 25 schools, FVWC, FV Junior woman’s Club to be judged by professional artists. Winners from various categories for Middle and High Schools and both Woman’s Clubs will move on to the District Art Festival in Raleigh February 14 and possibly to the State Art Festival in Mebane March 7 and National Art Festival date TBD.


FVWC participated in the The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) National Day of Service Project September 2024 “reduce food insecurity”. project. Our Club hosted a community-wide food drive for the Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry with collections at local businesses, the library, and at the Chamber of Commerce Senior Expo plus a Club donation for the Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry.
GFWC International Day of Service 2025 was during the week of September 21-27 when we joined over 900 women’s clubs globally by ” Uniting to End Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault ” with activities to raise awareness and provide support to survivors of DV and SA in our community. FVWC supported DESIGNED FOR JOY, a 501-c-3 non-profit organization in Raleigh that employs women referred to the studio for temporary employment options so they can get out of and remain out of abusive relationships and unsafe environments. Members prepared and delivered two meals during the week to the women workers, attended the fundraising gala to raise funds for wages for the women, and our club donated another $1000 raised by our annual Women FORE Women Golf tournament.
FVWC supports SAFE of Harnett County and InterAct of Wake County with education to our members and the community of their services and programs for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, with Club and in-kind donations including clothing, household items, bedding, and with volunteering. Funds raised by the Women FORE Women Golf tournament allowed us to donate $4500 to SAFE and $1500 to InterAct in 2024 and 2025.


On December 14, 2024, hosted a Christmas Home Tour in the historic district of downtown Fuquay-Varina! Twelve historic homes in the downtown area were beautifully decorated and open to guests to learn the unique history of each home and interesting facts about our town thanks to Shirley Simmons, one of our own members, who is the Director of the FV History Museums. Guests were treated to beautiful holiday caroling and enjoyed delicious cookies and hot chocolate along the route.
Christmas Downtown Home Tour was held again on DECEMBER 13, 2025. Tickets went on sale in October at Logan’s Garden Hut, KB Marketplace, Eventbrite, and were sold by FVWC members. Tickets were also sold on the day of the tour at Falcon Park Hut at 105 Falcon Drive where Santa was visiting, member Maureen Scullin painted a holiday portrait for a raffle, and hot chocolate and sweet treats were available for the tasting! Another special treat were the baby goats from Smith Goat Sancturary operated by FVWC member, Jesi Wilde, at one of the homes owned by FVWC member, Audrey Weiss. Two other FVWC members, Susan Stanley and Patty Byrne, and the daughter of member Sara Tew also opened their lovely homes. Proceeds of both tours were raised to support the renovation and repair efforts of our historic clubhouse built in 1936 and is on the historic national registry .
The third annual Women FORE Women Golf Fundraiser Tournament will be held Monday May 18, 2026, at Bentwinds Country Club in Fuquay-Varina, N.C. Mark your calendar with the date to play, donate, be a sponsor, volunteer, or be a spectator for this fun event to help us raise the funds for numerous community projects and charity organizations supported by FVWC.

” It’s Monumental : Women’s Suffrage Monument in Washington, D.C “, a FVWC Special Committee has been educating our Club members, the community, as well as Federation attendees from all over N.C. at our GFWC-NC Annual Convention in April 2025 about the women who fought for decades for women’s right to vote, own property, get an education, as well as the passage of the 19th Amendment in early 1920’s. The Presidents of our national and state women’s organization, GFWC and GFWC-NC, has asked all Clubs to support the Women’s Suffrage Monument Foundation to have a monument placed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Our Club participates in educational activities about the Women’s Suffrage Movement and we’re collecting change until April 2026 for the monument fund. Save and donate your change to “make a change” at our monthly meetings as part of our State President’s ART project, to “Make a Monumental Change”. Our presentation and report that helped spur our State project was recently recognized as one of the top ten projects of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) ! Way to go Special Committee members, Faith, Melvina, and Sara A for doing this project and presentation.
Environment CSP supports The Smith Farm Goat Sanctuary, a local animal sanctuary started and managed by one of our members, Jesi Wilde. This farm in Fuquay-Varina houses over 50 goats that have been rescued from other farms and that the former owners could no longer care for properly. Eventually the farm will be a sanctuary for other animals as well. The fellowship and the laughter of our members and others in the community that visit this precious place during yoga, movies, art classes, parties, etc. with the goats has made not only a positive impact on the goats but contributes to the wellness of our community. We’re honored to be an official Guardian of one of the goats, MISKA. Look for upcoming goat time events and Miska time on their website and Facebook page.
Health and Wellness will be organized our members to walk and donate to the annual OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK on September 27, 2025. Despite the rain, a dozen members walked around Ting Park in Holly Springs in support of the NC Chapter of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Donations totaling over $1700 were collected prior and day of the walk to support programs to help those struggling with depression, thoughts of suicide, survivors, and prevention programs in schools and businesses. FVWC also provided journals, clothing, other requested items and donations to The HOPE CENTER and the KidsSpace in Fuquay-Varina to assist families in crisis with a focus on children in distress that are not treated for mental crisis at local emergency rooms.
