The Fuquay-Varina Woman’s Club is the oldest civic organization in Fuquay-Varina and was organized in 1926 and federated in 1927. We are a member of the District VI of the General Federation of Woman’s Clubs of North Carolina, Inc. (GFWC-NC)
Since, 1902, GFWC-NC members have been committed to making their communities, the state and nation a better place to live and work.

Members achieve club goals through the following departments, planning exciting programs and projects to benefit the community:
Arts and Culture
The Arts and Culture Department incorporates the programs of Arts and Crafts, Literature and Performing Arts. We sponsor a local Arts & Crafts Festival with competitions for grades 4-12
Civic Engagement and Outreach
In the Civic Engagement and Outreach Program, Citizenship, Crime Prevention, Military Personnel and Veterans needs, and the needs of the homeless and hungry are our focus. We work with Wreaths Across America, work with MMIA, prepare food and bags for local police and fire departments, promote civic engagement through voting and gather food for local food banks.
Environment
Through the Environment Department programs of Beautification, Resource Conservation and Water Quality, and major environmental problems are tackled. We promote recycling, support the NC Zoo, NC Aquariums and NC Museum of Natural Sciences and preserve and beautify our communities.
Education and Libraries
The Education and Libraries Department emphasizes programs in Literacy, Learning Disabilities, and Be Cool after School. We award Academic and Music Scholarships.
Health and Wellness
Work in the Health and Wellness Department is coordinated through the programs of Women’s Health Issues, Financial Information and Financial Planning. We promote programs against drug abuse and stress suicide prevention. We support the Children’s Home Society, Girls and Boys Homes and the State Retardation Centers.
Challenge Project 2020-2022
The Challenge Project for 2020-2022 is Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness and Prevention. Our goal is to increase awareness and to help prevent domestic abuse and violence against women. 43.9% of NC Women experience intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner sexual violence, or intimate partner stalking in their lifetimes. (CDC 2014 statistics). Nearly half of all female homicide victims in the US are killed by a current or former male intimate partner. (Bureau of Justice Statistics).
